Gluten-Free & Coeliac-Friendly Places to Eat in Milan, Italy 🇮🇹

Updated: May 11

Planning a trip to Milan and wondering where to find safe, delicious gluten-free food as a coeliac? I spent a long weekend exploring Milan and made it my mission to find coeliac-safe eats around the city. From gluten-free pizza and pasta to fully dedicated bakeries, here are my top recommendations for gluten-free dining in Milan.

🏨 Where I Stayed: Central & Convenient

I stayed at Le Texture Guesthouse, located just a 5-minute walk from the iconic Duomo di Milano. It's not a traditional hotel but a stylish guesthouse inside a residential building with five ensuite bedrooms perfect for a short stay and a fantastic central location.

🍕 Gluten-Free Pizza & Pasta in Milan

Italy is famous for its pizza and pasta and luckily, you don’t have to miss out if you're coeliac. Here are some of the best places for gluten-free Italian food in Milan:

Pizzeria Positano
Pizzeria Positano

Pizzeria Positano Milano (Carrobbio area)

One of my top picks! This spot is not far from the Duomo and offers gluten-free pizza options. It gets busy fast, so go early. We got takeaway it was ready in under 5 minutes!

Ò Peperino Milano

Although I didn’t personally try it, Ò Peperino is a popular option with great reviews from the gluten-free community for their pizza and pasta.

Ristorante Pizzeria Dogana

Another highly rated option for gluten-free pizza and pasta, listed on the Find Me Gluten Free app. Worth considering!

🥪 Best Gluten-Free Lunch Spots in Milan

Truth be told, I skipped lunch most days because of the heat, but I did my research beforehand and found some great spots coeliacs rave about:

Bistrò

Reported to be 100% gluten free, Bistrò offers sandwiches, pastries, burgers, pancakes, and pasta basically, a coeliac’s dream! Tons of positive reviews.

Pan Per Me

A beautiful bakery offering gluten-free pastries, focaccia, and sandwiches ideal for a light lunch or mid-morning snack.

🧁 Dedicated Gluten-Free Bakeries in Milan

If you’re coeliac, visiting a 100% gluten-free bakery is a rare and joyful treat. Milan has several and they’re amazing.

GluFree Bakery

Fully gluten free with a variety of options including pizza, sandwiches, cakes, and pastries. Note: Closed on Sundays.

Pasticceria Navotti Senza Glutine

A dedicated gluten-free bakery owned by a coeliac. Known for its delicious variety and personal touch.

Officina Zero

100% gluten-free with a wide range of focaccia, baguettes, sandwiches, croissants, cakes, and tarts. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable too!

Pan Per Me

Mentioned earlier for lunch, but also a standout gluten-free bakery. Their sweet treats and savoury options (like quiches) are top-notch. Closed on Mondays.

🛒 Gluten-Free Supermarkets & Shops in Milan

If you’re self-catering or just want to stock up on snacks, these gluten-free shops are worth a visit:

Milano Senza Glutine

A dedicated gluten-free supermarket offering a wide selection of coeliac-safe foods. Closed on Sundays.

Celiachia Milano

Described as “a gluten-free heaven”, this shop is perfect for coeliacs visiting Milan. Also closed on Sundays.
